The Eurailpass allows you unlimited travel to 17 countries – Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Unlike the Europass, you are allowed 5 consecutive days of travel within a certain amount of time. It ranges from 15 days to 3 months of unlimited traveling time. The Rail Protector Plan is an additional $14-$17 – if your pass is lost/stolen, you will be reimbursed for the unused portion of it.

The Eurailpass Flexi is the same as the regular Eurailpass except that it provides different traveling duration. The choices for the Eurailpass Flexi are either 10 travel days or 15 travel days within 2 months. This provides more days the Europass – but it’s also almost twice as expensive.

The Eurailpass Saver requires that a minimum of 2 people travel together simultaneously. The maximum is 5 people. This provides 15 or 21 consecutive travel days or 1-3 months unlimited travel. The Rail Protection Plan is also available.

The Eurailpass SaverFlexi also requires 2-5 people. This provides 10 days of travel over the course of 1 month or 15 days over the course of two months. All parties must travel together. The Rail Protection Plan is also available.

The Eurailpass Youth is a discounted fare for people under 26 years old. This provides 15 or 21 consecutive travel days or 1-3 months unlimited travel. The Rail Protection Plan is also available.

The Eurailpass YouthFlexi is basically the Eurailpass Flexi at a discounted rate for people under 26 years old. The Rail Protection Plan is also available.

The EurailDrive pass allows for 4 days of train travel and 2 days of car rental with unlimited mileage within 2 months. Additional days will cost extra ranging from $46-$89 depending on the type of car you rent.
Another option for travel in Europe is the single country Eurail pass. This provides unlimited travel within one country. This may be a more viable option if you plan on traveling within one country and the traveling is expensive. For example, in the United Kingdom, everything is more expensive, so it may be wise to purchase a Eurail pass if you plan to explore the UK. However, if you’re in Italy, train fare is pretty cheap, so purchasing a Eurail pass might cost you more than just buying separate tickets.
